In Rio, Tulio speculated that Blu was the last male of his kind, the Spix's Macaw. He is shy and socially awkward and is definitely the opposite of his mate Jewel. While he can log into a computer, open birdcages, and use a skateboard, he had one major setback: He is unable to fly. When he met Jewel and fell in love with her, he was forced to put his fears aside and find out if he really had what it took to soar.

It's a jungle out there for Blu, Jewel and their three kids after they're hurtled Rio de Janeiro to the wilds of the Amazon. As Blu tries to fit in, he goes beak-to-beak with the vengeful Nigel, and meets the most fearsome adversary of all: his father-in-law!
