Apollo Series 65 A1R Heat Detector - 55000-122APO

The Series 65 Heat Detector monitors temperature by using a dual thermistor network which provides a voltage output proportional to the external air temperature. There are 12 heat detectors in the Series 65 range designed to suit a wide variety of operating conditions. Apollo Series 65 smoke & heat detector range are a direct replacement for the earlier Series 60 devices. Series 65 detectors have a wide voltage range (9-33 volt DC) and can be integrated on to security systems when used with the 12 volt relay base (45681-508).

The heat detector operates by using a matched pair of thermistors to sense heat. One thermistor is exposed to the ambient temperature, the other is sealed. In normal conditions, the two thermistors register similar temperatures, but, on the development of a fire, the temperature recorded by the exposed thermistor will increase rapidly, resulting in an imbalance of the thermistors and causing the detector to change to the alarm state.

A1R, BR and CR are Rate of Rise detectors, designed to detect a fire as the temperature increases, but they also have a fixed upper limit at which the detector will go into alarm if the rate of temperature increase has been too slow to trigger the detector earlier.

Apollo Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector - 55000-317APO

The Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector incorporates a pulsing LED located within the housing of the detector. The external detector moulding is identical to that of the ionisation detector but has an indicator LED which is clear in quiescent state but produces a red light in alarm. As part of the Apollo Series 65 Detector Range the 55000-317 Optical Conventional Smoke Detector offers a fire detection solution to many applications.  The detector can be used with most modern conventional fire alarm panels.

The Apollo Series 65 conventional optical smoke detector (55000-317) uses an internal pulsing LED and a photo-diode at an obtuse angle. In the event of smoke entering the chamber, the light pulse from the LED will be scattered and registered by the photo-diode. The detector will then enter the alarm state and the indicator LED lights up. The Apollo Series 65 optical smoke detector housing is identical to that of the Apollo ionisation smoke detector but has an indicator LED which is clear in quiescent state but produces red light in alarm.

Apollo Series 65 Diode Base 45681-201APO

The Series 65 Diode Base is designed for use with conventional systems that have manual call points and detector bases on the same circuit. The base is fitted with a Schottky diode on the "L1 IN" and "L1 OUT" wiring terminals. This base can only be used with compatible control equipment.

Operation:

All detectors in the Series 65 range fit into Series 60 standard mounting bases. The bases are of 100mm diameter and have five terminals marked according to their function: Line 1 in, line 1 out, line 2 in and out, remote indicator negative, earth. Detectors are polarity insensitive, so that identification of positive and negative lines is only required if a remote LED is fitted. An earth connection is not required for either safety or correct operation of detectors.

The earth terminal is provided for tidy termination of earthed conductors or cable screens and to maintain earth continuity where necessary. Bases have a wide interior diameter for ease of access to cables and terminals and there are two slots for fixing screws at a spacing of 51 to 69mm. Detectors fit into bases one way only and require clockwise rotation without push force to be plugged in.

Key Features:

Detector locking mechanism
