Roses have been my passion for years, and I've planted dozens of varieties. Then, one year, I planted some hollyhock seeds behind a few of my roses, trying to get that cottage garden feel. When the hollyhock seeds sprouted, I watched the plants grow, waiting patiently for the flowers, but to my surprise, the flowers didn’t come until the following year. I was so excited when they blossomed with the most colorful flowers, becoming a beautiful backdrop for the roses. Then I realized these two plants were meant to be friends; it just took them a while to get to know each other, and the idea for Hollyhocks & Roses was born! - Anne Sutton
