The Dayton 5X828F is a solid-state time delay relay (on-delay type).
It is intended to delay the closing of its output contacts for a preset interval (0.1 to 10 seconds) after the input (coil) is energized.
It is often supplied with or used in conjunction with a socket base (e.g. Dayton socket 5X852E) to allow easy mounting / replacement.
