An important early edition of the Turkish writer's poems published for English-speaking Indian audiences. Nazim Hikmet was a socialist revolutionary who spent much time imprisoned or exiled. Many poems in this volume are based on these experiences, such as 'Since I Was Jailed', 'The Fifth Day of a Hunger Strike', 'Advice to a Fellow Prisoner', etc.
