Late 19th/early 20th Century tramp art jewellery / trinket box + with carved detailing set off with ceramic beads, heart motif on lid and velvet lined.

This folk art piece looks like a gift of affection or ceremonial present possibility on occasion of an engagement or wedding/honeymoon. Carved inscription to front base panel reads 'SOUVENIR' and on rear base panel 'ACHIEL / ZOË.' with a padded canvas heart motif in mid/center of lid.

Lid, base and interior set off with white ceramic beads, probably used as a jewellery/trinket box, keep cherished correspondence etc..

Imperfections + wear as can expect, one or two ceramic beads missing. Wood guessing to be walnut however can't say for sure. In overall lovely vintage condition and ready to use and/or display as prefer. Please refer to images as they form a large part of the description.

Style of work/detailing dates to late 19th or early 20th century, likely either of Belgian origin or for a Belgian couple, Achiel & Zoë acquired on travels (honeymoon?) .
