











Gerhard Lenser war ein renommierter Bergsteiger aus Freiburg,
bekannt für seine herausragende Leistung bei der Erstbesteigung des Pumori im Himalaya im Jahr 1962.
Als Mitglied einer deutsch-schweizerischen Expedition gelang es ihm, diesen technisch anspruchsvollen Gipfel zu erklimmen,
was ihn zu einer prominenten Figur in der Bergsteiger-Community machte.
Lenser war nicht nur ein erfahrener Bergsteiger, sondern auch Autor und Philatelist.
Er verfasste Berichte über seine Expeditionen und Erfahrungen, die in der Bergsteigergemeinschaft hoch geschätzt werden.
Seine Leistungen beschränkten sich nicht nur auf die Besteigung des Pumori; er nahm an mehreren bedeutenden Expeditionen teil und hinterließ einen bedeutenden Nachlass, der wertvolle Erinnerungsstücke aus seiner langen und erfolgreichen Karriere im Hochgebirge umfasst.

symbolizing his ability to respond to the sufferings of all beings and help them.
Depicted in Yab-Yum with his Shakti, representing the unity of wisdom and compassion,
surrounded by other Buddhist saints and protective deities. Pigment on cloth with a fabric frame,
protected by an additional fabric mounting.
