Original 1971 Camilla Chambers (New York 1933-1977) abstract expressionist acrylic on canvas board. The painting is signed and dated lower right. It is also signed, dated and marked #104 en verso. This impasto piece has some minor nicks, but no paint loss. The painting is not framed and measures 20" x 16". This is the actual painting you will receive so please look at all of the photos and ask any questions before purchasing. I have listed two shipping options. Please select the one that works best for your location.
A low starting price and NO RESERVE ensure a sale to the high bidder. I believe in true auctions so do not accept offers once an auction listing has started.
Ms. Chambers lived in NYC in the Westbeth Artist Housing building (founded in 1970 with an interesting history of its own) at 463 West Street in the West Village and died very young. The last photo in the listing from the Harvard Library Collection, depicting the "Artist At Work In Her Studio," was taken by Freda Leinwand and included in her 1979 Women At Work series.
