In 1992-1994, hyperinflation raged in Ukraine. Postage rates changed, sometimes twice a month, and postage stamps often ran out of post offices. Postal departments in different cities tried to solve this problem: they printed their provisional "stamps", overprinted surcharges of new or additional value on envelopes, overprinted low value stamps, etc. Until now, this period of Ukrainian postal history is being researched and cataloged by enthusiasts.
