White Sands graduated from National Monument to National Park status in 2019. It is located just outside Alamogordo, NM and provides plastic saucers and sleds for visitors to slide down the white gypsum sand dunes that made it famous. Gypsum is the same material found in wallboard or drywall sheets. Come play at White Sands!
