Encaustic monotypes are a one of a kind work of art which is created by laying paper into carefully manipulated melted, pigmented beeswax. Once the design is created on a heated surface, paper is applied and the colored wax is soaked into the paper, and once lifted, the design from the heated wax is transferred into the paper. It is a delicate flowing dance of artistic creation, heat, and color within the translucent beauty of wax.
As with any painting, this encaustic monotype should not receive any direct sunlight and the colors will stay vivid over time. It was a joy to create this and may my art bring you enjoyment in the years to come. Barbara Barkley
