Specially bound and published in limited number in St. Louis by the School of Architecture, Washington University, 2004, on the occasion of the groundbreaking on April 14, 2004, of Fumihiko Maki's design for the new Sam Fox Arts Center at Washington University in St. Louis. Illustrated with photographs and drawings. First published in 1964, this is only the second printing since then. Both printings rarely seen. This limited edition is handbound in Japanese Fukurotoji-style binding (folded leaves create doubled pages) with exposed thread side-stitching along the exterior of the spine front and rear. With 82 total pages (14 intro pages followed by 68 pages of text). Book stacks like it's 164 pages thick due to doubling of pages.
