Wilcox International Silver 13 Inch Silverplate Bread Tray Spring Garden

For consideration is this vintage silverplate hollowware bread tray made by Wilcox International Silver. The pattern name is Spring Garden and features a beveled edge and upraised ends decorated with flowers giving it an Art Deco theme. It measures ¾ inch tall at the lowest point of the tray and 1½ inches tall at the height of the ends, 13¼ inches long from handle to handle and 7¼ inches wide.

There is no maker’s mark and the tray has been cleaned with Simichrome Polish. This belongs to my 86 year old mother and she is downsizing. She said it was her first piece of silverplate and she received it as a wedding gift in 1958. It is in excellent vintage condition with no dents or dings. Buyer will pay shipping on a 2 pound box. Thank you for looking!

NOTE:  Originally organized in 1865 as the Wilcox Britannia Company, in 1867 the company’s name was changed to the Wilcox Silver Plate Company. In 1898, the company became part of the International Silver Company and the brand continued. Later, evidence shows that by 1954 the "Webster-Wilcox" division, combining E. G. Webster & Son and the Wilcox Silver Plate Co., at the International Silver Co. was formed.

NOTE:  Holloware refers to a variety of pieces of metal tableware used in serving. This includes things such as platters, sugar bowls, coffee pots, soup tureens and more.
