WHAT IS A TINCTURE? (Traditional, Legal and Standard Definition of a tincture)

A Traditional tincture is a concentrated liquid extract made by soaking herbs, plants, or other materials in alcohol usually 40-60% f for 90-180 days to pull out and preserve active compounds. They are primarily taken orally, often via a dropper under the tongue for fast absorption, and are used for herbal remedies. Tinctures compared to teas or infusion have a long shelf life. Teas and infusion only last 4-7 days. Tinctures can last 3-5 years.

About Goldenrod

This premium quality apothecary grade Herbal Goldenrod Tincture is made with a 1:3 extract ratio of dried plant material to liquid.

Herbal preparations have been recognized since ancient times, and Goldenrod (Solidago spp.) is no exception. Historically, the Goldenrod plant has been recognized for its various applications in traditional practices. This tincture is crafted with high-quality ingredients.

This goldenrod botanical extract is made without any artificial additives or preservatives, making it a natural option for those exploring holistic preparations. It is important to note, however, that botanical preparations should not be taken in place of medical advice, and should be used in conjunction with the advice of a medical professional.

Using Goldenrod Tinctures

Tinctures are an easy and convenient way to incorporate botanicals. Tinctures are made by extracting compounds from herbs by soaking them in a liquid, such as alcohol, glycerin, or vinegar, which allows the natural compounds to be preserved and concentrated.

Goldenrod extracts offer a convenient way to use botanicals without requiring drying, processing, or extensive preparation. They can be added to food or drinks, or used as directed. This makes tinctures a great option for those who prefer simple botanical integration.

When it comes to suggested usage, it’s important to remember that tinctures are concentrated. It’s generally recommended to start with a small amount, such as 1-2 drops, and adjust gradually. It’s always best to consult with a healthcare professional before beginning a tincture regimen.

Goldenrod Extracts and Liquid Tinctures offer convenience compared to dried herbs or teas. You don’t need to spend time drying and processing the herbs, and they don’t need to be put into tea bags or steeped in boiling water. This makes them a more convenient option for busy people.

Additionally, goldenrod tinctures are a concentrated form compared to dried herbs or teas. This means that a smaller amount may be needed to achieve the desired botanical experience. And since they are concentrated, they’re also a cost-effective way to engage with botanicals compared to buying herbs in bulk and processing them yourself.

Overall, goldenrod botanical tinctures are a great way to explore this botanical. They’re easy to use, convenient, and cost-effective. Just make sure to start with a small amount and adjust usage slowly, as advised by a healthcare professional.

Our Approach to Herbal Guidance

We love connecting with our customers from around the world! While we're happy to answer questions about our products, please understand that we can't offer personal health advice or consultations. Legal rules are very strict about this. Our product descriptions offer general information based on historical and traditional herbal suggestions.

Our main goal is to provide you with high-quality herbal products at affordable prices. For personalized health advice or specific herbal needs, we suggest reaching out to your local healthcare practitioner, private physician, or a trusted herbal or medical resource.

How We Craft Our Extracts

We make our unique herbal extracts right here, on-site, using time-honored methods that steep for 90 to 180 days. We ethically gather all herbs at their peak potency.

Unless otherwise noted, our extracts are crafted with 80-100% pure grain (corn) alcohol (40% ABV). If you prefer to avoid alcohol, simply add your dose to a small amount of boiling hot water, tea, or coffee and stir. The alcohol will evaporate almost completely within about 1-3 minutes. The alcohol content in an average dose of our tincture is roughly equal to the amount found in a ripe banana.

Are Our Herbs Organic?

All our herbs are 100% pure, free of pesticides and herbicides, and are never fumigated or irradiated. They're also non-GMO.

Extract Potency & Ratios

Our extract ratios are prepared as follows:

Extract Lifespan

Alcohol-based tinctures can last for many years if kept away from heat and light, typically staying potent for 7 to 10 years based on common storage results. Can be refrigerated after opening.

Suggested Usage (General Guidance)

This is up to you and your healthcare provider. Generally, dosages are 20-60 drops added to hot tea or hot water, one to four times per day, or as advised by your healthcare practitioner.

How to Take Your Extract

Always shake well before use. (There can be micro amounts of plant material) You can add drops to hot tea, coffee, or juice, one to four times daily, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner. You can also administer the drops under your tongue. Many customers even add it to their morning juice!

Why Does My Extract Look Cloudy?

Our extracts are made in the "old-fashioned," traditional way. It's completely normal for some extracts to appear cloudy or have suspended particles (particulate matter). Also, herbs can vary slightly in color and taste from season to season. Just shake well before using!
