ABOUT THIS SENSOR
The fuel rail pressure sensor monitors live pressure inside the high-pressure common rail and sends a continuous voltage signal to the ECU on a 5V reference circuit, so injector timing and pulse width stay correct across the full load range.
On the 1VD-FTV the sensor works from 151kW in the 70 Series to 200kW in the 200 Series. When it fails the ECU can no longer verify rail pressure and drops into limp mode to protect the high-pressure pump and injectors.
