Tripoli Libia, Libya vintage travel poster print (late 1920s - early 1930s).
Founded in the 7th century by the Phoenicians, Tripoli has been ruled by conquerors including the Greeks, Romans, Ottomans, and eventually the Italians from 1911-1943. Tripoli has an exotic appeal and Italy produced inspiring travel posters such as this one. The poster was one of a series produced by the Italian Tourist Bureau (ENIT) often in cooperation with the Italian State Railway System (FS). This series of posters has become among the most collectible in the field of travel.
