Limited edition giclée print "The Meat Boy" is from Mark Ryden's debut show at the Mendenhall Gallery in Pasadena, California held in 1998. This is an extremely scarce and exceptional piece, one which is rarely found for sale. It is significant in that it is the first Ryden limited edition print ever released, produced to coincide with his debut solo exhibit. The print comes with the Certificate Of Authenticity from Art Works Fine Art Publishing who produced the piece.

A regular edition of 100 prints, all numbered and signed by Mark were sold exclusively at the show.

This is one of the few Artist Proofs of which only 10 were made. They belonged solely to the Mark and were never offered for sale to the public. This one listed for sale here was gifted to me by Mark. I worked with him for many years and helped to create and launch Porterhouse Fine Art Editions in 1999. I have an extensive, unique and great collection of many of his earliest published works which I'm now selling.

This piece has previously hung in my home, but the time has come to pass it on to someone else who will appreciate it. The colors are vivid and bold, the paper has some aging coloration which embellishes the overall look. As with much of Ryden's art, the strength and beauty of his art co-exists nicely with the maturity of the paper stock. The photos shown here convey that nicely.  To visually embellish this listing I've added a creme colored border with titles, but they are not part of the actual piece.
