I am a size 12 and after reading the reviews where everyone said to size up, I purchased the 14 and it fit almost perfectly. I had extremely minor alterations done. 1) I did have it hemmed (I'm 5'6" for reference), and 2) I had a little material taken in around the bust and shoulders where there was a slight bit of extra to remove any bunching because of the sizing up. I would call this a perfect size 12 after the adjustments. 3) I also had a small ribbon attached on the underside of the train to carry it.
