A remarkable vintage 1950s large cluster ring comprising an oval cut center sapphire measuring 7x5.1x3.2mm and having an estimated weight of about 1.0 carats, surrounded by an oval cluster of 12 round brilliant cut diamonds and further encrusted by an outer border of 12 round cut sapphires, each having a diameter of 3.1-3.3mm. Mounted in 18 karat white gold. All sapphires are natural, of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating or other treatments and are of an exceptional intense Royal Blue color. Estimated combined weight of the 12 round sapphires is in the 1.80 carat range. The 12 round brilliant cut diamonds are of great G-H white color and average VS1 clarity. The top of the ring measures an almost round 19.5x18.5mm and ring size is 52 (US size 6 / UK size L-M) and can be resized. Gross weight is 8.0 grams in 18K gold. Inside of shank is hallmarked 750. The design and appearance of the present ring somehow resembles similar designs used by Van Cleef & Arpels within their ballerina creations. Absolutely scarce vintage jewelry collector piece and one of the extremely fine and exquisite natural Burma sapphire rings and jewels.
