A lovely and truly captivating circa 1900 Turn Of The Century Edwardian cluster ring adorned with a rectangular cushion cut 2.10 Carat natural Burma / Burmese sapphire centerpiece surrounded by a cluster of round old European diamonds. The fine antique Burmese sapphire has been thoroughly inspected by an HRD certified gemologist and was confirmed to be natural with no indications of heating or other treatments. The 2.10 carat Burma sapphire measures 8.3x6.8x3.9mm and is millegrain set into a delicate platinum border. The sapphire possesses a magnificent intense Royal Blue color of the finest and most desirable hue. It exhibits an excellent and rare "loupe clean" VVS clarity that is not very common for Type II gems as sapphires are. Surrounding the sapphire is an oval cluster of 14 round Old European and single cut diamonds of relatively equal sizes. The diamonds have average diameters in the 2.2-2.4mm range and total estimated diamond weight of about 0.80 carats. All diamonds possess an average H white color and VS2-SI1 clarity. The base of the ring is finely crafted in pierced platinum with intervening and intersecting embroidery like floral motifs. The top face of the ring measures 15x14mm (0.6"x0.55") and its gross weight is 3.5 grams. Ring size is 50 (US size 5 1/4 / UK size K), but can be resized. Although unmarked, the present ring was most likely crafted in France or Switzerland. It is important to note that natural untreated and unheated Burmese sapphires of this color, quality and origin are usually considered very rare and fetch many tens of thousands of dollars per carat. Absolutely scarce antique jewelry collector piece and one of the rare turn of the century Edwardian Burma sapphire rings and jewels in general.
