Fine and rare vintage 1980s French natural Burma ruby and diamond ring in 18 karat yellow gold. The oval ruby weighing exactly 2.78 carats and measuring 10.47 x 7.71 x 3.83mm has a vivid red color, transparent and moderately included, as is typical for Type II gemstones. The ruby comes along with GCS - London Gem Lab Report stating the ruby is natural and of Burma origin with moderate indications of heating.
On both sides of ruby are two rows of channel set princess cut diamonds with superb E-F white color and VVS1 clarity. The 8 diamonds have an estimated combined weight of about 1.50 carats.
The ring is hallmarked with French marks for 18K gold as well as signed with a maker's mark that reads EMD or EDM. Gross weight of ring is 10.2 grams and ring size is 54 (US size 7 / UK size N), but can be resized.
Natural Burma (Myanmar) rubies of sizes above 2 Cts. with vivid red color are considered very rare.
