An absolutely gorgeous vintage 1980s French Burma ruby and diamond ring in 18K yellow gold. The oval cut ruby of Burmese origin with exceptional red color also known in the industry as pigeon blood red. The bezel set ruby has been inspected by HRD certified gemologist and found to be natural with no indications of heating or any other treatment, as well as with superb eye clean VS1 clarity for a Type II gemstone. It measures 7.80x5.95x3.30 and has an estimated weight of 1.15 carats.
On both sides of the ruby and set to the ring's shoulders are two oval cut diamonds forming a stylized three stone ribbon bow shape along with the ruby. Both oval diamonds measure 5.0x3.5x2.0mm each and have an estimated combined weight of about 0.50 carats within setting. There are further another 8 baguette graduated by size diamonds extending down on both shoulders that were estimated to have an additional combined weight of about 0.45 carats such that, total diamond weight of all diamonds is in the 0.95 carat range. All diamonds have an average H white color and VS2 clarity.
Gross weight of ring is 6.7 grams in 18 karat gold and ring size is 53 (US size 6.5 / UK size M), but can be resized.
The ring is signed with French maker's mark 'Ste. F.C.' with a horseshoe, as well as hallmarked for 18K gold. The quality of stones and craftsmanship is extremely high and most likely coming out of the high jewelry lines of one of the top French jeweller workshops whose pieces were usually commissioned throughout the years by firms like Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, etc.
