Overview
Fix the fast-blinking turn signals on your Yamaha the easy way. The Custom LED ELFR-1 is a plug-and-play electronic LED flasher relay that drops into the factory flasher connector on a wide range of Yamahas — YZF, FZ and MT models included — with no cutting and no splicing. Swap it in for your stock 2-wire (or 3-wire-with-ground) flasher relay and your signals return to the normal DOT blink rate.
Fast “hyper” flashing shows up when your turn-signal lamps draw less current than the bike's flasher expects. That is usually after switching to LEDs — but it can also appear on models that already came with LED signals once you fit lower-draw aftermarket LED lamps. The ELFR-1 holds the right blink rate either way: with stock bulbs, LED signals, aftermarket LEDs, or any combination.
Fully solid-state, it responds the instant you flip the switch — none of the start-up delay cheaper LED relays add — and it draws almost no power. As long as your total signal load sits between 0.05A and 10A (about 0.6W to 120W), the blink rate stays correct, which covers nearly every signal setup out there.

2-wire or 3-wire OEM relay? Both work. The ELFR-1 uses a 3-pin connector with only 2 pins populated, so it plugs into both 2-wire and 3-wire OEM flasher relay connectors. If your factory relay had three wires where the third is simply a ground, you do not need a “3-wire” replacement — the ELFR-1 doesn't use that ground. (A common online misconception.)

On supported eBay sites, use the Year / Make / Model compatibility finder at the top of this listing to confirm your exact year. If your bike isn't listed, compare your OEM flasher relay connector before ordering, or message us.
USA-spec shown. Non-USA models sometimes use a different flasher relay, and previous-owner wiring changes or mid-year production changes can differ — when in doubt, compare your motorcycle's original relay connector before ordering. The compatibility finder will point you to the correct Custom LED model for your bike.

Installation
The ELFR-1 is plug-and-play on compatible bikes — it replaces your factory flasher relay with no cutting or splicing, and full installation instructions are included with your order.
- Locate your OEM flasher relay (check your owner's or service manual if you are not sure where it sits) and confirm you have identified the correct relay.
- Unplug the OEM flasher relay and plug the ELFR-1 into the same connector. (For non-standard two-wire flasher applications, the ELFR-1 can be hard-wired instead: Red to switched +12V, Black to the blinker load; leave a factory ground wire unconnected.)
- That's it — your signals should now blink at the normal DOT rate.
If you are not comfortable working with your motorcycle's electrics, please have a qualified technician handle the swap.
Troubleshooting
If your signals are not working correctly after the swap, first re-confirm you replaced the correct relay, then check:
- The relay is fully seated in the connector
- The turn-signal fuse in your motorcycle's fuse box is good
- Power is reaching the turn-signal circuit (a test light or multimeter helps)
Still stuck? Message us — our US-based support team will help you sort it out.
The ELFR-1 sets your blink rate — it brings the signals back to the correct DOT speed. Some other turn-signal behaviors are separate from the relay: on an all-LED setup the very low electrical load can cause symptoms like both sides flashing together (the 4-way symptom) or an integrated LED tail light staying in “blinker mode.” These come from the low load on the circuit, not the relay, and are solved separately — message us and we will point you to the right fix.
