Perlite adds drainage, retains moisture, and facilitates air for plants that thrive in an airy, loamy soil environment.

Perlite comes in different size, for different applications.  Bog type plants (venus fly traps, butterworts, ect.) need a smaller particle size.  Succulents and cactus do well with the coarse #3 size (this product).  The larger size is perfect for plants needing faster drainage, more air, and larger pots.  

The perlite we ship is hand sifted for a more uniform size, and to reduce dust.  Size 3 is not too small, and not too big.
