Here is a VINTAGE BESWICK FINE PORCELAIN TIMMY TIPTOES BEATRIX POTTER FIGURINE WITH GOLD BACKSTAMP. It is the BP2A GOLD BACKSTAMP MODELLED BY ARTHUR GREDINGTON.
Beswick was founded in 1892 by James Wright Beswick and his sons at Longton, Stoke on Trent. In 1948 Beswick initially gained the rights to produce 10 of the characters from the Peter Rabbit stories. Over the years they have become the most famous figurines produced by Beswick, faithful representations of the characters in the Peter Rabbit stories.
The figure was produced between 1955 and 1972. This particular figurine's backstamp has BEATRIX POTTER in capitals, BESWICK ENGLAND in an oval and the character name Timmy Tiptoes in italic script. All in gold. It is very hard to photograph the gold, but it is definately a gold one. I believe this is the 1961 version, judging by my research. Let me know if you know differently. Please view the images as they form part of the description.
The tableau is based on The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes. A squirrel who got stuck down a tree trunk whilst out collecting and hiding nuts. He has an impressive fluffy tail and he is wearing a red/dark pink jacket to keep out the Autumn chill. He is standing on a grassy area.
Timmy Tiptoes measures approximately 3 1/2" tall.
I will be listing other Beswick Beatrix Potter figurines, so please ask if there are any others you are looking for. I will combine postage to save costs.
Timmy Tiptoes is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.
Any white marks or dark areas on the images are light reflections and not flaws on the item.
