6 SET VINTAGE COLOUR KNITTEL FAKIRIS CUT TO CLEAR CRYSTAL WINE GLASSES TRISCHLER. HEIGHT …. 8 1/2” 👀👀

(The last two photos show another listing with Knittel champagne glasses, one of which has a Knittel label for identification purposes).

This listing is for a superbly elegant set of cut to clear champagne glasses made by the Knittel Fakiris glass works in TRITSCHLER, GERMANY BETWEEN 1920. 1970….. I believe these to be of the early patterns no longer being made and very hard to find….let alone a complete and perfect set of 6!!

The pattern is very intricate from the base which is hobstar cut under with a beautifully rare scalloped edge. The stem also is complicated by graduated hexagonal facet with fancy zip cut highlighted with a hexagonal facetted knop. The bowl is cut to clear in all six colours: Rose, cobalt, amber, emerald green, amethyst and black. The pattern is hobstar, fan, strawberry cross hatched and long survey cutting. A veritable feast for the eyes to behold.

A superb weight in the hand….and a superb enduring “PINGGGGG” when finger nail flicked.

A lovely heirloom gift for a wedding or anniversary or other special occasion. The like of which cannot be duplicated online at the present time.

MEASUREMENTS: 8 1/2” X 3” base diameter.

CONDITION: NO CHIPS OR NIBBLES. Perfect mint condition, 3 with labels.

RESEARCH NOTES:

Wikipedia

English: Colorful cut crystal wine glasses. Glasses from the "Fakiris" series made from lead glass by the German glassworks Knittel; F[ranz]. A[ugust]. Knittel, Reinerzer Kristallglaswerke. The glasses are made in the cameo glass technique, 22 cm tall. Studio photography in Gåseberg, Lysekil Municipality, Sweden.

FA Knittel was a major Bohemian crystal glass company during the interwar era. First situated in Bad Reinerz in Silesia (present day Duszniki-Zdrój) with 857 employees in 1939, it moved to West Germany and Euskirchen in 1948, and in 1951 to Bad Ems. It seems to be defunct today.[1]
