ABOUT THIS SENSOR
On these V8 Windsor and Cleveland engines a failing sensor commonly shows up under load or towing, where an inaccurate reading can push the engine into an over-rich fuel map and noticeably hurt fuel economy on a heavy-duty pickup.
Replacing it restores correct fuelling and idle behaviour and is a common, low-cost fix on these older US-sourced V8s.
