VINTAGE 1980s HARTMANN BELTING LEATHER HARDSIDE MACBOOK BRIEFCASE BAG R$1298 My bags are the antidote for the poly-lined synthetic leather run-of-the-mill bags being produced in China. Most of my bags are full-grain leather; Artisan craft, with authentic distressed character, and many with modifications unique to our line. We only use high-grade men's belts for shoulder straps. This leather is reminiscent of equestrian leather halter straps. I also use half centimeter thick mooseskin. Nothing wimpy here; quality and character that stands out and stands the test of a truly rugged lifestyle. Invest in a bag that you'll love more and more over time. Not all leather bags are created the same. A great quality leather bag is supposed to look better with time as the leather acquires marks and age-related wear. Make sure to check out my whole store. At the time of this listing, I have 169 items all unique and different. Many with added Mooseskin handles; my "trademark" unique idea. Once you have tried it you will wonder how you functioned before without an inside handle. Also on many of my briefcases, I add a mooseskin handle wrap. The handle is the point of contact that the owner has with their bag and mooseskin is so pleasing to the touch. My philosophy in writing descriptions is: a picture speaks 1000 words. So please look at the pictures and email me with any questions. That said, here is my description: --- I love this old case. At the time of writing this listing, I have two other Hartmann Hard-side cases. One of them has a Modified Handle, the other one has that coveted "been around the block" distressed look. This one is the not so frequently seen OxBlood in color and is clean and not beat-up at all; just a nice clean used case. People are flocking back to the traditional hard-side cases because they are really easy to pack and it is easy to get access to all your gear by just putting it on your lap. It is great knowing your stuff is safe; even if dropped. Many conversations will begin carrying this piece of history. What I love about this old Hartmann briefcase is just about everything. In my opinion, this is one of the finest classic hard-side cases ever made. There are more expensive more finely crafted cases but this one is so minimalist in regards to its design and ballistic in regards to construction; it simply cannot be beaten. Here is the highly sought after 3.25 inches deep Hartmann briefcase from the 1980s. In the 1970s they made a version with the snaps that go over at the clasps and they were kind of a hassle but they did look cool. Then they came out with this version that is made of wood and leather and metal and has the look of having the straps but it's a simple open and closes with the front center latch. This rare version was made for the IBM Printers Division of IBM and is stamped with the logo inside as shown in the last photo. The outside and inside Monogram Tag is Blank. The outside is made of a full-grain belting leather over a wood-box frame. It has brass hardware. The combination (currently set to 225) locks make it great to keep the kids out of your work papers and MacBook and you cannot lose the key. The inside is a fine vinyl and is great because it doesn't stain easily and is very durable. It also has leather trim inside. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being super clean I give this one about a 9.5. The name tag inside is even blank. The measurements are approximately: 18 x 13.5 (Not including the Handle) x 3.25 inches
