This is a BEAST of a magnet!
The large ferrite C8 (Y35) disk is housed inside a steel shell which focuses the magnetism down to the exposed surface of the magnet. The poles of ferrite ring magnet are on the flat faces so that one flat face will be north and the other south. This makes these magnets ideal for use in treasure hunting, magnet fishing, metal recovery, anchoring and holding applications etc. They are especially good for retrieving lost keys, lock keys, and other ferrous objects from fresh and salt water.
Ferrite magnets are also known by the name Ceramic or Strontium Ferrite magnets. Strontium (chemical symbol Sr) is element number 38 on the periodic table. This means it is an alkali earth metal. Ferrite magnets are manufactured by compressing an Iron Oxide and Strontium Oxide powder and then sintering at high temperatures.
This magnet is extremely dangerous and unsuitable for use by children of any age
