This is a heart shaped hollow glass bead with islands of 23k gold foil, fire sealed to the glass surface. It is created with glistening transparent peach that reflects the light on the surface and within. The heart shape is completely sculpted in the fire. I do not use a press mould to create the heart. This allows for a unique one of a kind bead each time. It is 25mm x 16mm.

It has been a while since I created the heart bead. I decided to do them again because our country and the world has been through so much lately. I feel our hearts and care for one another will get us through. The gold is symbolic of our souls. I hope these flying hearts will uplift our souls and bring us some peace.

Each bead is cleaned and annealed.

Creating beads started for me 20 years ago with a dream my wife had of me sitting in front of a torch creating a bead with a smile on my face. So she bought me a book on bead making. Within 2 weeks I was making my first bead. I am still smiling! Thanks for viewing, Michael
