One of the most important food sources for carp and trout in the summer months is the huge family of terrestrials. In some small streams, stillwater, lakes and reservoirs they account for the 80% of many fishes food and most of these are some type of beetle. During these warmer months, foam beetles are without doubt a must for any fly fishing enthusiast. Use this Hi-Vis foam Beetle fly as an indicator, using a New Zealand dropper tie on a small weighted nymph when fly fishing for trout or use a small dry fly or deer hair biscuit/pellet fly behind it when carp fly fishing. Either way, you double your chances as the fish is going to be just as apt to take this beetle as the fly. When coarse fishing the beetle fly is ideal to use on a zig-rig set up.
