This kit rebuilds the standard Sea Star steering Cylinder HC5345, we used all Viton seals for this kit as Viton is a super material and costs 15 times more than other NBR or Urethane materials and last 2-3 times as long, Viton was Formulated by Dupont it is a Synthetic Rubber which resists Oxidation, UV Rays, Solvents, Acids and ozone on paper the working life of this material is about 30 years and I would suspect it will last even longer than that.
We have gone great lengths to bring better quality parts to the marine industry as we have seen these systems leak within 5 years of being new.
Low Quality Urethane Seals Deteriorate Rapidly In The Marine Environment. You won't find better seals on the market hands down. These caps never wear out and they can be resealed without any issues. We also included the Bleeder valve O ring incase you need it.
