to honor industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie.

in the mid-1870's, Andrew Carnegie opened the Edgar

Thompson Steel Works in Braddock, Pennsylvania. The

success of this first mill led to the creation of the Carnegie

Steel Company in 1892. This was later merged with a

number of other steel mills to form U.S. Steel.


This set is 65 years old, suitable for framing

or for mounting in your scrapbook.

Each set of 4 stamps includes a protective

stamp mount inside a glassine envelope.
