This is a West German Art Pottery Serving Pitcher made by Scheurich.

Scheurich was founded in 1923 as a china, glass and porcelain wholesale company. They didn't start producing ceramics until the 1950s. They were one of the biggest companies in Western Germany up until the mid-1980’s.

It dates to a period between 1949 to 1990, before German Reunification.

The Pitcher features a stippled glaze design with an abstract cobalt brushed pattern.

  • It's a little reminiscent of an ink wash painting.
  • It has a salt glaze appearance.  
  • The interior has a Cobalt Blue Glaze.

The Pitcher Measures:

  • 8” high
  • 2 ¾” opening
  • 6 ½” wide bowl
  • 3 ¼” base

Condition:

  • Very good pre-owned condition
  • No chips, cracks, nicks, or repairs
