The public loved and admired the beautiful young Duchess because of her good works, but the Duke was more enamored of her closest friend.

AMANDA FOREMAN TELLS WITH WIT THE STORY of this remarkable woman.  It was the author's first book, it established her as a biographer of note, and it won the prestigious British Whitbread Prize for Biography, remaining on the best-seller list for months.  It is in very nice condition and protected by a removable Brodart plastic cover to keep it that way.
