Built from real 1900s American barn lumber
These shelves are made from authentic reclaimed barn wood, not new lumber distressed to look old. The original wood is carefully cleaned, milled, sanded and finished into a substantial floating shelf while preserving the natural grain and character earned over decades.
Depending on the board, you may see original saw marks, grain variation, weathering, knots and occasional nail holes. These are natural characteristics of reclaimed lumber rather than artificially created distressing.
Shelves ordered together are carefully selected and matched for a consistent appearance.
Shelves are sold individually, making it easy to build anything from a single display shelf to a full-wall arrangement.
No visible brackets.
Each shelf includes our hidden mounting system and installation hardware. The shelf locks firmly into position after installation for a clean floating appearance.
When properly installed into wall studs, these shelves are designed for functional everyday use, not merely decoration.
We normally orient the cleaner edge outward while placing prominent nail holes and heavier character toward the back or underside when possible.

Because this is genuine reclaimed lumber, some natural variation is unavoidable. That's part of what separates it from mass-produced shelving made from new material.
At the same time, multiple shelves purchased together are matched as closely as possible for color and character so they work naturally as a set.
