Alfagrog is a porous ceramic material that is lightweight and has a hugh surface area, far bigger than most other biological filter media available(see chart).

Alfagrof provides a larger area from friendly filter bacteria to grow and establish for effective biological filtration

  • Extremely high surface area and very porous
  • pH neutral & inhert 
  • 10mm to 45mm pieces - Alfagrog E25 (larger E40 size in avaliable from stock)
  • Suitable for freshwater and marine systems
  • Also makes a decorative substrate
  • We advise rinsing this through before adding to your aquarium

Dispatch Information

  • We will generally dispatch your item the same day if ordered are placed before 12 noon.
  • Items under 2Kg are usually dispatched via Royal Mail 1st & 2nd class deliveries which covers all UK address with a postcode including Northern Ireland
  • If the selected postage option is Royal Mail 1st or 2nd Class then on average delivery times are between 1 to 7 working days
  • Please allow up to 10 working day on Royal Mail deliveries as delay do happen. Please also check at your Local Royal Mail collection office, with your neighbour and at the post office before getting in contact with us. Many items are being left in these places and calling cards are not being left behind.
  • If Other courier is the postage option then delivery will times are 24hr or 48hr from dispatch date
