THIS RECORD IS FROM OUR PERSONAL COLLECTION. Well maintained.
*Because our clients are mostly jazz collectors and connoisseurs, as we are, we made it our policy to only sell vinyl that we grade in VERY GOOD (VG) condition or better. This vinyl is in our opinion a VG+, looks and plays great.
Record Grade VG+ = ONE OWNER. Very well maintained. Just listened to both sides of the whole album with headphones on and it plays beautiful. The vinyl looks clean. Little to no surface noise at all. No skips or jumps. Difficult to find this rare vintage mono recording in such nice condition. (see pictures)
Jacket Grade VG+ = Very well maintained. We kept it on our shelf in plastic cover all these years. NO Writing. Normal corner wear. We placed a small one inch tape at entry point and top middle for seem split protection. Very sturdy cover. A clean jacket for a 58 year old album. (see pictures)
The pictures were taken of the exact vinyl record and album cover you will receive, moments before this listing was written. Please make sure to review the images and ask any questions prior to bidding.

Saxophonist/composer Charles Parker Jr. was born in Kansas City, KS. on 8/29/20 and raised across the state line in KC, MO. He played in bands as a teenager and made his first recordings at age 18. During this time Charlie became addicted to morphine while hospitalized for an auto accident; he later switched to heroin and this addiction contributed to his early death on 3/12/55.
In NYC in the early 1940s, Parker and a group of young musicians that included trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie, pianist Thelonious Monk, guitarist Charlie Christian and drummer Kenny Clarke pioneered a form of music that "they" couldn't play (meaning bands led by whites). This radical new sound became known as bebop or bop, but Charlie always called it just "music."
The 1957 VERVE Records Charlie Parker LP entitled NIGHT AND DAY (MG V-8003) is #1 in their extensive "Genius of Charlie Parker" series. Original recordings orchestrated by Joe Lipman. VERVE production supervised by Norman Granz.
