This is a terrific stated "First U.S. Edition" of celebrated author Ian McEwan's wonderful novel, On Chesil Beach, originally published in 2007 in Great Britain by Jonathan Cape. This 1st U.S. Edition also was published in 2007 by Nan A. Talese.
As indicated by the full number line starting with "1" on the copyright page, this is also a collectible First Printing of the First U.S. Edition!
Importantly, this collectible 1st/1st hardcover copy is in superb condition with no defects, blemishes nor significant wear. In fact, this 8 year old book essentially is in "like new" condition; indeed, it appears that the book was never read! Moreover, the dust jacket remarkably shows little to no shelf wear!
Some additional specifics include:
- it is neither a library copy nor a book club edition;
- the text is 100% clean- in fact, the book overall is clear of writing, highlighting or other such marks.
- the pages are not creased, ripped, stained or otherwise damaged;
- there are no other previous owner marks, stamps, or inscriptions inside the book or on the dust jacket;
- it is not price-clipped nor are there remainder marks;
- the dust jacket shows very minimal, if any, "wear"-- rather, it is still very "bright and clean" and most of the edges and corners still are relatively sharp;
-the DJ has no stains, water damage, rips, fraying, wrinkling, etc.;
- there is no discoloration, spotting or other signs of aging;
-the boards are fine; and
- the binding is "tight and square".
