EARLY WOOD ONE-PIECE WASH STICK

This is a nice old original wash stick carved from a single piece of wood.

It is a precursor to the washboard.

There are deep ridges hand carved into one side and a handle at the top.

It has a very nice decorative detail carved into the bottom.

The hardwood has a very beautiful grain.

It was used for scrubbing launder clean in simpler (albeit harder) times.

I can't imagine actually having to laundry in this manner.

It has been cleaned and has a beautiful handrubbed waxed patina

This wash stick measures 25" long  X 4-1/4" wide X 1-1/2" thick. 

A really great early original authentic piece to add to your collection or decor. 

Doesn't take a lot of space and makes for interesting conversation.

An interesting piece of America's past.
