HSS, professional, hardened, quality (not cheap carbon steel) TAP. For general purpose and thread correction in various metals, mild steel, low alloyed steel, etc. up to 800N/mm2 TS. Fully ground tap. To correct or repair thread we recommend to buy PLUG or perhaps SECOND stage/cut.

British Standard Cycle BSCY (or BSC, CEI) is a British standard thread. BSCY has 60 degree thread profile like metric or UN threads but pitch is identified on a TPI (number of threads on 25.4mm) basis. BSCY tools we sell come with 26 TPI threads. BSCY threads used to be used with bicycles and motorcycles.  These days not so common on (new) motorbikes, but frequent on bicycles basically all bottom bracket threads and the wheel axles made in China.

Which thread and where to be found:

-          Front axle and seat pin 5/16” (7.94 mm), 24 or 26 TPI
-          Rear axle 3/8” (9.53 mm), 26 TPI
-          GB Stems using 5/16” (7.94 mm), 26 TPI for the handle bar clamp
