NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO REMOVE/PUSH OUT THE BEZEL RING FROM YOUR HERO2 CAMERA FOR THE LENS TO FIT CORRECTLY, & IF USING THE HERO1 YOU NEED TO CUT DOWN THE LIP AND BORE OUT / ROUND OUT THE CASE CENTER AN EXTRA 2MM FOR THE LENS TO FIT WITH THE FRONT FACE PLATE CASE BACK ON.
THIS LENS WILL NOT FIT BACK IN THE WATERPROOF CASE UNLESS THE FRONT BUBBLE IS REMOVED.
LCD MONITOR IS RECOMMENDED FOR FOCUSING SINCE THIS LENS IS SO ZOOMED IN.

We do also offer the higher quality 50mm if you needed maximum resolution and zoom.

With this lens you can actually capture license plate #'s from vehicles 150ft away, & even macro focus up close to an object. 
Some of our customers have used this camera for macro focus microscopic work, soldering,  jewlers,  surgery, & even security.

Due to the way the hero2 is designed, then lens only threads in a few millimeter & The starting focal point on the hero2 is appx 9ft, but using the hero1 will start within 14 inches & has more threads on it so you can get that closer to object field of view.

Just look at the difference between the 2.8mm & 50mm, the stock gopro lens is even wider at 2.2mm.
