The Seven was originally developed back in 1922 by Stanley Edge and Herbert Austin as a low cost form of transport. It was aimed at families who might otherwise have travelled by motorcycle and sidecar. With its 750cc engine this small, tough and reliable British-built motor, changed the course of automobile design. It also proved the viability of a small-capacity four-cylinder car. Incredibly, around 7,000 are still in service today. There were many derivatives including Chummy, Swallow, Ruby saloon, Cabriolet, Sports, Tourer and even a van. Production ceased in 1939.
