Good antique condition overall.
Original dark cloth binding with gilt lettering and decoration to the front board and spine. The binding shows rubbing, fading and general wear, with some fraying and wear around the spine edges and board extremities.
Page edges are browned with age. Internally, the volume is generally clean and sound, with age-toning, occasional spotting/foxing and minor marks. Rare notation / underlining present as well as an early handwritten religious inscription to a preliminary leaf and a handwritten marginal annotation to p.408.
Complete with all eight illustrations called for.
