A beautiful, pre-owned Suhr Standard Plus has arrived, featuring a vibrant Chili Pepper Red body and a highly practical pickup configuration of V60 x 2 + SSH+. The Standard Plus is one of Suhr's flagship standard models.
Combining a highly playable neck with an SSH layout that covers everything from Stratocaster-style single-coil sounds to powerful humbucker tones, this model is versatile enough to excel in a wide range of genres. The body is constructed from two-piece basswood.
This balanced, neutral wood, combined with a gloss-finished Chili Pepper Red, achieves both a vibrant color and Suhr's signature refined aesthetic. The eye-catching color makes it a compelling choice for those who prioritize looks within the Suhr lineup.
The neck is made of roasted maple, and the fingerboard is made of pau ferro. The back of the neck has a satin finish, ensuring a smooth and comfortable feel where the palm rests.
The neck shape is "Even C Slim .800-.880," based on a relatively slim C-shape, making it easy to play with a natural form without gripping too tightly. Furthermore, it features a 10"-14" compound radius and 22 Stainless Steel Heavy frets.
The specifications make it easy to adapt to different playing styles depending on the position, from chords and rhythm playing in the lower positions to lead playing in the higher positions. The smooth feel unique to stainless steel frets is also a welcome feature for a guitar that you'll be playing every day.
The pickups are V60 in the neck and middle positions, and an SSH+ in the bridge position. The V60 allows for sound shaping that takes advantage of the delicate nuances characteristic of single-coil pickups, while the SSH+ in the bridge position provides a thicker, more powerful sound, making it versatile enough to handle a wide range of sounds, from clean to crunch Stratocaster-style tones to distorted leads and riffs.
In addition to basic sound variations via the 5-Way Blade Selector, it also features a push-push bridge pickup split function. This guitar not only delivers the powerful sound of a humbucker, but also allows for tone shaping that incorporates the nuances of a single-coil pickup.
Another key feature is the inclusion of Suhr's proprietary SSCII pickup. Combined with the SSH layout, which allows for a wide range of sounds including single-coil tones, this configuration offers practical versatility in toning.
The hardware features Suhr Locking Tuning Machines and Suhr 2-Post Solid Saddles. Designed with ease of tuning and string changes in mind, this guitar embodies Suhr's commitment to both playability and practicality.
With its vibrant Chili Pepper Red finish, Roasted Maple neck, Stainless Steel Heavy frets, and V60+SSH+ SSH configuration, this guitar not only has a striking appearance but also boasts practicality, capable of handling a wide range of tones from clean to high-gain.
This guitar is recommended for those who want to handle as many genres and sounds as possible with a single instrument, as well as those who want the playability of a Stratocaster while also possessing the robust sound of a humbucker at the bridge. Enjoy the high level of craftsmanship and playability that is characteristic of Suhr, while also making a strong impression on stage with the Chili Pepper Red Standard Plus.
