5 lb Aurora NV Geode Botryoidal Chalcedony Agate Crystal Vug Display Specimen
This substantial five-pound geode has a large open cavity filled with creamy translucent chalcedony, rounded botryoidal formations, crystalline pockets and subtle variations in color and texture.
I’m told this specimen came from Aurora, Nevada, and while I have rock hunted in this area before, this is not a specimen I found myself. Based on its structure and appearance, however, I would concur. It shows many of the characteristics associated with material from this really cool old ghost town and mining district in Mineral County, Nevada. Geodes and colorful jasp-agate have historically been documented in the Aurora area.
With its rugged natural exterior and beautifully exposed interior, this is an impressive specimen for display and exploration under light.
