Rosemeade Pottery in Wahpeton ND made numerous hand-painted pottery shapes from 1940 to 1961.  Their many salt and peppers and figurines were very popular items in the area's souvenir shops.  Often depicting animals or other subjects native to the area, they were very realistically shaped, detailed, and colored.

This heron flower holder/figurine was glazed with glossy white, black, and orange glazes.  It is about 6-3/4 inches tall, 2-3/4 inches wide, and 3 inches front-to-back.  The round base with 10 holes at different levels for flower-arranging is about 2-3/4 inches in diameter.
