Item Condition
Used. Powers on, display and controls work, hopper agitator turns. Wear marks.
Used commercial unit with visible wear. There are fine scuffs and dust on the black side panels, scuff marks on the base, a light yellowish stain on the bottom foot, water marks on the hopper top plate, small particles inside the hopper and a few brown spots on the metal plate around the bolts. No mold or odor was noted.
The white L/R rollers show no cracks or chips, but their edges are wavy. It is not known whether this is the original shape or wear. The grey turntable disc did not rotate during a dry run without rice. Please review the photos carefully.
Operation Check
- Power: turns on, power lamp lights blue, no burning smell or abnormal noise
- Controls: Start/Stop, Count, + and - buttons respond
- Count setting: + increases the value and - decreases it
- Stop: a single short press of Start/Stop stops operation immediately
- Hopper agitator: green spiked bar rotates during a dry run, with no abnormal noise or smell
- Grey turntable disc: did not rotate during a dry run without rice

The AUTEC ASM430 is a Japanese-made commercial sushi robot that forms shari (sushi rice balls) for nigiri. It is used in sushi restaurants, conveyor-belt sushi shops and catering kitchens. Rice is loaded into a hopper with an agitator and fed through rollers to form uniform rice balls, with a selectable piece count. It has an emergency stop knob.
The nameplate lists Audio-Technica Corporation as the maker, with a 23kg weight and a 2A fuse. The ASM430 was succeeded by the dual-side ASM440.
