MANTEL CLOCK KIT THWAITES & REED CLERKENWELL mechanical carriage clock WOODEN CA

Mantel or carriage clock kit produced by Thwaites & Reed, Clerkenwell, London in the 1980s. Complete and offered for the buyer to build, includes full instructions.

The kit contains all the wooden case parts, glass, dial, brass handle etcetera. The 30 hour mechanism has transparent plates to see it operating and includes a phial of oil. Some of the metal parts are mildly oxidated from storage and may require cleaning up before use.

Weighs 960g before wrapping. The completed clock stands 170mm x 140mm x 95mm.
