This is the Rollei Rolleiflex 3.5F Xenotar "White Face" 6x6 medium format twin-lens reflex (TLR) camera.
Introduced in the final production run of the 3.5F series between 1969 and 1976, the Rolleiflex 3.5F Xenotar "White Face" represents the structural apex of Rollei’s 6x6 TLR lineup alongside its Planar sibling. The "White Face" designation denotes the simplified, solid silver faceplate surrounding the viewing and taking lenses, replacing the earlier engraved silver-and-black plates. Built around a precision die-cast aluminum chassis, the camera features a coupled coupled selenium light meter, an interchangeable waist-level viewfinder with a flip-up magnifier, dual exposure control wheels with integrated depth-of-field indication, and a mechanical Synchro-Compur MXV leaf shutter providing speeds from 1 second to 1/500 second plus bulb with full flash sync across all speeds.
The taking optic is Schneider-Kreuznach’s renowned Xenotar 75mm f/3.5 lens (5 elements in 4 groups), paired with a bright Heidosmat 75mm f/2.8 viewing lens on the upper bayonet. Offering a focal length roughly equivalent to 41mm in 35mm full-frame terms, the Xenotar design is celebrated for its exceptional resolution, high contrast, and outstanding distortion correction across the 6x6 square film plane. Utilizing standard Bayonet II (Bay II) filters and lens accessories, the Rolleiflex 3.5F Xenotar White Face offers ultra-quiet shutter operation, butter-smooth crank film advance, and an enduring benchmark in classic TLR engineering.
